I’m happy to share that Mari’s home! Mari took these photos to share with you all pre-op, post-op, and at home. In all three stages Mari was still able to give you all the biggest smile and heart she could possibly make! Words can’t even describe how incredibly strong and resilient Mari has been.

To update you all further, a large portion of the mass was successfully removed. Unfortunately, a small portion of the mass had to be left behind as it was too close to the motor cortex and removing it was extremely risky. She is still in a lot of pain but it’s to be expected given what she just underwent and the size of the of the wound (It’s at the top of her head so you can’t see it straight on). We are awaiting further tests on the portion that was removed in order to formulate a better plan for what remains. Right now, mari’s focus will be recovering and lots of physical therapy to get her strength back. Shte loves you all much and is happy to be home!

Not the update I hoped to post:

I haven’t officially posted on here in nearly 6 months. Following the Boobie Trooper event in October, life gradually began to take a turn. I was so excited to have reached my five year milestone. I felt strong and ready to take on the world but my body soon began to feel like it was failing me. I began to lose even more mobility on the left side of my body which caused me to fall several times. I also continued to have siezures sporadically. On top of that, my brain scans were starting to raise concerns.

Fast forward to a few days ago, where my latest brain scan results showed progression. There are several tumors that require radiation and one in particular that grew too large for radiation treatment. As a result, this upcoming Wednesday, I will be going in for my first brain tumor removal. The surgery poses many risks due to its location. We are nervous and scared but also hopeful that the surgery will be successful and I can work towards a smooth recovery.

My family will try to update everyone as frequently as possible. Please be patient with us during this time. We love you all. As always, send as many prayers or positive vibes our way! 💕

We are just days away from the first Boobie Trooper Breast Cancer event of October! We are so so grateful to Nancy @connectwithnancyblue for putting together such an amazing event year after year. Good morning Troopers! Happy Friday!

I am not usually one to like celebrating my birthday, but here I am posting for all to know, that today is my 34th birthday!

Although life hasn’t gone exactly as I thought it would, I am extremely thankful for what I have.

Like my dad always said and continues to say.. Juan and I, will be by each other’s side celebrating our 90+ birthdays.

So cheers to myself for another trip around the sun! No matter how silly it may feel, celebrate yourself, not just on your birthday, but everyday.
